SOS Tartarugas works in Cape Verde protecting nesting loggerheads turtles (Caretta caretta) and their habitat. Cape Verde is the third most important nesting area for loggerheads in the world. Turtles are at risk from hunting for meat, stealing of eggs, removal of sand for building and unregulated tourism development. Our email is info@turtlesos.org.

More men needed!

Could be less than eight weeks before we see the first nesting turtles for this year and we are already getting reports of sightings at sea.

In the meantime we are finalising arrangements with this year's Rangers.  We almost have all the international volunteers we need - they will be arriving from the UK, Ireland, the USA, Portugal, Spain and Italy.   Noticeably, we have not been able to recruit any German speakers or sufficient Portuguese speakers.  We also need more men to balance out the team.

If you would like to join our team please follow this link for the latest news and how to apply Update on vacancies
